Obtained an Honours degree in Computer Science.
I started my career as a computer programmer in the GEC group and then progressed to a consultant in the computer industry working for multi-billion world-wide companies.
I then decided to move into sales and was very successful selling directly and via the reseller channel. With this experience I was approached to set up a Midlands office for a large reseller, and achieved a turn-over in excess of a million pounds in less than two years.
Furthered my experience by working for smaller companies a recent start-up company approached me to head up their sales effort and I played a significant role in their growth and acquisition. By now I was in a sales management role and then progressed into business management with full profit & loss responsibility.
I was approached by a UK subsidiary of a large American company to help turn a loss making business unit into profit, this resulted in turning a £142k loss into over £175k profit in 18 months, whilst being responsible for over 20 people and dealing directly with companies such as McDonalds, Toyota , Peugeot and other commercial organisations.
I was then asked to help another small startup company providing resources and bespoke solutions into local and central government organisations and again helped their growth to the stage the company was floated and now quoted on a foreign stock exchange.
Just over four years ago I decided to start my own company offering my experiences (good and bad!) to organisations and this has resulted in me helping directly and via other consultancies with sales management , business issues and providing part-time management for companies in several market sectors including web services and home improvement. I have also provided photography services over the last couple of years to various local companies and I’m actively involved in several local organisations promoting photography in the Midlands. I have had images published in local papers, online magazines and exhibitions plus I’m a volunteer photographer for the West Midlands Fire Service.
